Are there application entry fees?
No. The application for Hatch Bloomington is completely free.
Do I have to include a reference in my application?
No, but a reference would strengthen your overall application and business proposal.
Is the competition virtual or in-person?
The competition will be held in-person, so be prepared to travel to Civic Plaza (1800 W Old Shakopee Rd, Bloomington, MN 55431) for all pitch rounds and public facing events.
Do I need to be an established, up and running business to apply?
No! Although we welcome business owners looking to grow their current operation, we encourage anyone with a business idea to apply. As long as the proposal includes a brick-and-mortar storefront presence in the City of Bloomington.
What do I need to have before I apply?
As part of the application process, you will need a description of your business proposal, work completed, and projected use of funds. You will also need to provide a finance/budget document. Optional deliverables, such as a business plan, website, pitch deck, and social media channels, could help strengthen your proposal.
I have submitted my application by the May 3rd deadline, when can I expect to hear if I made it to the Top 25 Semi-Final round?
If you are selected to be one of the top 25 semi-finalists, you will be notified by June 3rd. If you have made the cut, you have 23 days to prepare for the Top 25 Semi-Final Pitch Round on June 26.
